Who can Apply and when?

Read through the following checklist to see which requirements apply for you. Make an appointment at the local Ausländerbehörde under one of the following categories:

Niederlassungserlaubnis für Absolventen deutscher Hochschulen

  • You have finished your studies in Germany

  • You have worked in Germany for more than 24 months with a Blue Card/Work Permit Visa

  • You have sufficient knowledge of the German language. (For example, you have finished your B1 at the University)

Niederlassungserlaubnis mit Blauer Karte EU

  • You have worked for more than 21 months on a Blue Card

  • You have a B1 Deutsch Certificate from Goethe/TELC/or the likes

OR

  • You have worked for more than 33 months on a Blue Card? (No B1 certificate)

Niederlassungserlaubnis

  • Have you worked in Germany for more than 60 months on a Work Permit visa.

  • You have a B1 Deutsch Certificate from Goethe/TELC/or the likes
